I have looked at the excellent tutorial on adding a Birth Cerificate source and using auto-citations. It indicates that some 9-11 citations might be involved.
The second part of the How-To (where individuals and families have been entered previously) simply states that a citation can be added to almost any fact.
The following assumes a source record has been created.
I already have the individuals and families entered so it is a matter of adding Birth Certificate Citations to existing data. I have identified the following citations:
1 Name of the child
2 Birth of the child at
3 Residence of the child at
4 Name of the father
5 Occupation of the father at
6 Residence of the father at
7 Name of the mother
8 Residence of the mother at
9 Name of the informant at
10 Address of the informant at
9 and 10 may be the father, mother, relation or someone completely unrelated. If the latter then possibly ignore the informant apart from a mention in Text from Source?
Does this just about cover all the citations for a Birth Certificate?
Thanks,
Ric

If you use Auto-Source, you will also possibly get whole record source citations for the Child, Mother and Father.
Birth Certificate Citations
Jane, thank you
What is a 'whole record source citation'? Because the individual records already exist can such citations be added afterwards?
Thanks,
Ric

Yes, on the Source Part of the Property box, just drop down the list and select Whole Record.
