I have started to clean up my family tree, and have noticed that my ancestors are listed with marriage date on the Male entry and some on the Female entry, is there any prefrence, Can i make an easy change within the diagram or ???? so that the marriage entry is either all under the Male or Female.

I presume you are looking an all relatives diagram, as on an ancestors diagram by default it's shown on the woman.
On all relatives it's shown on the spouse of your blood relative, this is because your blood relative could have more than on spouse shown, so if they were female it would be tricky to show all the marriages.
