Does anyone know if/how it is possible to add new columns to the Records Window?
It would be rather useful to have a Residence column for individuals.

Not currently.
You may find it usful to create a query show residence and use that as a launching point. You can select the indi column on a query and open the Properties dialog or a diagram as you wish.

I am also interested in doing this. I am a new user and love this programme but I have a 'one name study' of 20,000 records all with similar names like William Smith born in the same year. Displaying extra columns for Parents or Spouse would make it much quicker to pick the right person.

Apologies, now I understand the power of 'custom queries' I realise that I don't need to change the Records View at all. From now on I will make no posts until I fully understand all the powerful features of this programme. It uses a much more sophisticated way of thinking.

Everyone seems to have the same sorts of problems with starting with FH.
It is a very powerful software and takes time to learn. The more questions asked here and built into a database the better, as new users can search for the answers. [cool]
Also why not take a look in the Query Store and download a few to see how they work.
