Restoring FH data
I accidently deleted an entry on FH . I therefore went to >File >Backup/Restore >Restore and called up my last saved file. I then re-entered the data I had lost and continued by entering some new data. I exited from FH and backed up the file.
Next time I used FH it appeared in the original form i.e. without the entry I had accidentally deleted or the new data I had entered. I then went to >Restore and was able to bring up the latest file for the project I was using. I find that I now have to go through the bother of restoring the file each time I log on the FH. Surely there is some way in which I can persuade FH to open with the latest version of the project I am using?

When you restored your file you did not restore it over your project file. just make sure you restore it to the data folder with the original file name.
If you delete something by accident in the future, remember you can just use the undo option to get to back as long as you have not exited the program.

Restoring FH data
Good morning Jane,
When I backup and close my current/default project corrected for the erasure I made and then later open the project it still opens showing the copy containing the erasure, not the amended copy. I then go to my backed up file and it opens successfully at the corrected copy.
I have two projects on the go ( excluding the sample project) and the one that I am working on shows a tick against it; the other shows a pecked box round the name.
Any ideas please?
Leslie

If I understand correctly, you have transferred your Family Historian Projects folder OK, but you have not installed the Family Historian program on your Windows 7 system.
You need to install FH V4.1.3 (or whatever version you have) on Windows 7.
Do you have the original purchased Full Installation CD and all the subsequent Upgrade CD/Downloads and their Registration Keys?
If so, you must first install the FH Full Installation and then install each Upgrade.
If your original Full Version is Version 2 you may need a CD-backed Installer too. See http://www.family-historian.co.uk/suppo ... installers for details.
