FH4 Memory Usage

Post by Stu » 28 Aug 2010 09:16

Hi,

I'm using the latest patched FH4 on Windows 7 (64bit).
I have many (2000+) multimedia files and I'm coming across quite a few errors when trying to display pictures in FH.

These include mainly 'Unable to load object. Out of memory'.

I noticed that in Windows Task Manager FH is using 1.9GB of my total 4GB.  Is this normal?  I've searched the forums and the only similar error found was back in the days of FH2.

The program doesn't crash, I just can't display all my pictures.

Best regards,
Stuart

Have you tried turning off the Caching on the Advanced button from preferences?

I tried a few options and it's just directly related to the number of pictures shown in the diagram. I excluded a lot of pictures and the memory usage of FH went down to 1GB from 1.8GB.

Regards,
Stuart

I thought it would be as FH caches the thumbnails of the photos into memory. Have you turned off the cache? Did the memory requirement drop?
