Just in case I'm missing something, could someone confim that when entering details for 'text from source' in the source tab of the records window, it is then necessary to copy and paste these same details into the individuals record. It is obviously not a great problem to do this but I've only just noticed that where I've entered text in one tab, it doesn't appear in the other.
Thanks in advance.
Derek.

They are actually different fields, but I can think of no good reason to put the same text in both, as one identifies the text relevant to the citation, so would only be applicable if you had lots of Text from source in the Source record, and wanted to highlight a small amount of it against the citation for the individual.

Of course, thanks Jane

Actually Jane I've just had a further look and confused myself even more. Help if you can please. I've looked at, for example, my own record and in my listing under individuals (main tab) if I scroll the 'sources for' and chose birth then I can see a reference to my birth certificate and under 'text from source' I've entered just that - the text. So would it not be also correct to see it also entered in the sources pane (individual records) where there is also the facility to enter 'text from sources'.
I hope I've explained that ok.
Help again please

An individual fact (e.g. birth, census, etc.) is linked to a source via a citation. The confusing bit here is that there is the facility to store 'text from source' within the source itself and also within the citation. What you are seeing in the Individual's sources pane (the yellow bit) is the citation text. Whereas what you see when you look at your birth certificate source is the source text. So although the citation text is blank if you click the button to view the source itself you'll see the source text there. Unless you really need to for some reason, don't copy the text into the citation text just leave it in the source text as this will avoid duplication.
