I have sucessfully been using Dropbox to synchronise files between 2 computers although I am not sure which folder to put in Dropbox so that all the settings (flags, custom queries, diagram colours etc)are the same on each. Can anyone help.Probably a very simple answer!![grin]

I don't know if Dropbox have added support for folders outside of dropbox yet, if not you could simply export and 'config' items you change to a dropbox folder and import them on the PC.

I know on the Dropbox folders it's a much asked for item.

There is a way to get around it, but it's a bit tricky and is Windows version dependant on how to do it.

Dropbox and settings

I had thought it would simply be a case of putting the relevant file/folder in the dropbox folder as I have done with my project folders.Since this does not seem to be the case which file do I need to copy to my other computer so that the settings can be the same on both? Thanks[smile]

No the problem is the Family Historian settings are stored in the 'program data' area of your OS, which is controlled by the operating system and not Family Historian directly.

See http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id ... e_settings
for more information.
