Entering a marriage certificate

Post by wulliam » 07 Jan 2010 09:19

I've successfully added a birth certificate as a source by following the very helpful tutorial. I now want to add a marriage certificate...but it seems to me that if I do it the same way then I will have to do it separately for each individual.

Is it possible to set it up as a family source?? I couldn't find anything to help me when I searched.

Being a teacher and off school today with the snow, I'm trying to use my time profitably :))

Thanks!
William

No just set up a source exactly the same as you do for a birth certificate.

When you add the information from the Certificate it will work exactly the same as the Birth one.

So once auto source is on (follow the existing tutorial), you will add some or all of the following
  • A marriage date and location.
  • A Father for the Husband
  • A Father for the Bride
  • Residence information for the Couple (if shown)
  • Occupations for the Bride and Groom
  • Occupations for the Fathers.

Thanks for that Jane!

I'm sure I'll be back with more questions!

Kind regards,
William
