Missing Multimedia Files

Post by Richchad » 28 Dec 2009 09:13

I had to reinstall my Vista Windows and my multimedia files have all moved to a new directory.
Now I cannot view any photos etc in FH V4, all have crosses shown.

I have tried the Work with External File option without success.

I have my multimedia files in a folder named 'Family Historian Files' and then divided between two sub folders called 'Family Historian Document Links' and 'Family Historian Picture Links', however when I view the file structure in the Dialogue box it shows 'GEDCOM folder' then a folder named 'Media' which has a cross through it, and all my media files, with crosses on them under that.
I have tried Re-mapping the media file but it makes no difference, what am i missing here?
Can someone give me a step by step way to reinstate my media?

I forgot to mention that all my media is installed in quite a few sub folders under different surnames, surely I haven't got to re-map each file into its correct folder?

Can you change the 'Current Tree File' location so that it sees my existing file structure?
