I am currently using Windows 7 on my spare PC, and at work.
I have the upgrade CD version of FH4, which of course relies on v3 being installed first.
Do you know if v3 will work on Windows 7, to enable me to upgrade to v4, so that I can than determine when/if to upgrade my main home PC to Windows 7?
I must have FH4 functioning if I migrate.. !

All versions of FH will install and run on Windows 7. If you have early (2002/2003) versions of Version 2 you will need to use the CD backed installer, but otherwise there should not be an issue.

Have installed FH on windows seven and runs ok. Had to install the same patch i used for a netbook install to complete instalation. The programme runs fine. [smile]

I also have a new computer with Windows 7, When I tried to install FH version 2.1.8 I had an error message and was thrown out. I have an upgrade disc with version 3 also. Please can you advise.

You'll need to download the appropriate installer from the Family Historian website. See this link for details:
