FamilySearch affiliate, WorldVitalRecords.com has announced a free, 3-day promotion for all its historical and genealogical records beginning Tuesday, 11 August 2009 through Thursday, 13 August 2009. The promotion celebrates the largest single-day release of records since the site launched in 2006.

Glad you found something!

When I first signed up with WVR, I thought it was a neat idea -- I mean, an alternative to Ancestry, what's not to like? [wink]

I do like the fact that they offer access to all the new data free for the first 10 days. And for a while, the International collection was a nice deal for me, since I could get access to (some) of the UK Census records via their deal with Find My Past.

However, I still think their user interface is awful.

The free days are very useful, however -- you don't have to sign up first, and then find out afterwards that their records don't cover anything you need.

I registered and used the site with some success before the free days expired.  I've now had two emails from them:
