Can you post more details of which report format you are using and some of the surrounding code.
Thanks

Hi Jane,
I'm not sure what exactly you mean as I thought this would be very easy to find?
Using the example project that comes with v4.
1) I go upto the Internet menu.
2) Select Create a Web Site
3) From the wizard that options, I leave all opening options ticked. Click Next.
4) Select All People. Click Next
5) Tick, Show only common reports only. Click Next.
6) Give my site some titles and information. Click Next
7) Add addional pages. Click next
8) Leave logo top left in Presentation. Click next
9) Just click finish.
Then if you view the site, on any person where there is a child list, your see the CSS code appearing in their name information.

What browser are you using?
Also can you paste in a bit of the source from that area of the html file.

As a web developer of over 15 years, the first thing I checked was the browser. Rest assured, all current browsers are doing the same.
The source is as:
Child 1: <a href='fam6.html' class='bodylink'>Edmund Peter MUNRO</a>
when it should be:
Child 1: Edmund Peter MUNRO
Basically whoever coded up the system needs to tidy up the a href

It's very strange I am not seeing that output at all.

I'm seeing this too. I followed the steps described by Aquiss. They didn't mention what they did in step 3 (Report Template) but I left the Primary Page Type as 'Family Group Sheet (for Web or CD)' and Secondary Page Type as 'Individual Summary Report (for Web or CD)'. Rather than choose everyone in my tree I just chose the descendants of one of my gt-gt-grandparents. Then I viewed his information on the web page (this is a family group sheet). The screenshot shows the first child but it is the same for all the children. The links from the short list of children at the top of the page work fine, the issue is below where it lists all the facts about each child.

Thanks Nick, I have managed it now, it only occurs if you start far enough back to get children who have more information and who are not living.
I will flag this for Calico to look at.

Thank you for pointing this out. We will investigate it and get back to you on this thread. But please don't expect a quick response as we are still very busy with other things at the moment.

I am getting the same problem but posted my query in a different part of the forum. I will watch with interest as I use this part of the program for my own website.

I'm also getting this problem but, additionally, the problem occurs only where the child number is listed (Child 1, Child 2, etc.).
In V3 all children were listed as Child 1, Child 2, etc., but in V4 there are many instances where just the Name is listed. In these latter instances the literal html anchor tag is not displayed.
In both instances (with and without the Child 1, Child 2 label) the name no longer operates in version 4 as a link as it did in version 3. Therefore the 'a=href' seem to be universally in error.
By the way has anyone noticed the odd indenting of records as shown in the image in the earlier posting by Jane (Written by Jane (04/28/09 - 11:38:53)? I can find no consistency to this other than that something appears to be different about the 'colspan' directives for some records.
Regards,
Ric

I am also getting a few parsing errors.
It doesn't seem to like formatting certain website address.
e.g. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/?q=3/Eddi ... n/England/
Generated source for this =
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/?q=3/E ddiscombe/Road/Fulham/London/England/.
I have experimented with various website addresses and narrowed it down to the fact that it doesn't like the '=' sign.
I have also experimented with substituting entity characters in combination with CDATA but this doesn't work either.
In version 3 I could put the following in a note field and it would parse no problem and proved very useful. I now have hundred of links that no longer work and look very messy on the web presentation:
View Map Location of Address
This now generates source =
<a href='http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=4+St+Di ... n,+England' target='_blank'>View Map Location of Address</a>.

Steve

I too am very keen for this part of FH to be sorted.
After trying various methods of representing my tree online, I found the FH website wizard to be the simplest and most effective for my present needs. Any bugs in this will drastically hinder my website updating!
Simon, please consider this one a priority![cry]

In terms of testing, I'm surprised this one got through as it appears in the sample data when you use the defaults to generate the website for it. View the family of Peter Munro and Helen Addison (first entry on the index) and the bug appears.
v4 - Web Site Exporting Bug
I have just tried to recreate my website with FH4 and found that the Individual Pages which form the primary part of the site seem to have links to parents and siblings but not to children. This is a great nuisance, because one cannot now browse through a family from old to recent by clicking on links to children, just the other way around, with the link to parents. This didn't happen with the V3 website I had before, I'm sure. What am I doing wrong?

I have also noted that there is no link to a child, but there is a link to the child's spouse.

As for others I am getting this code appearing in the headings when I try to update my web site from V4.0
Child 6: Albert James HEARD
This is a major problem for me and a fix is a priority

It has been sorted, simply download the 4.0.2 update and install it.
