transfers to genesreunited

Post by mikebanks » 13 Aug 2007 09:45

Have tree with lots of notes and events,  but I want to upload to Genesreunited a copy without any of these items. I can only see at moment tht it would mean going to each entry (570!) and deleting items. Is there another way.
any help would be great

The split tree helper gives options to exclude many types of information.

As Robin says run a copy of your file through split tree helper.

Personally I would strip everything other than Birth, marriage and death dates. As shown below

I would also recommend, removing all family outside of direct ancestor lines and as far as possible all living people.

See This article for more information

Jane, would the above settings also strip place of B/M/D? I agree with your recommendation to strip everything except BMD however I would like to leave the location as well as the dates.

Thanks
Adrian

The settings as shown will leave the date and location for the three events shown, but strip all sources etc.

Thanks Jane, I will have a go at it tonight and see how it goes. I have been wondering how to clean up my GenesReunited data for some time now - in fact, one of the reasons I bought FH3 was because it could handle output to GR better than my last program (PAF).
