I have an ancestor who married his cousin and when I produce a diagram it duplicates the family from the date of the marriage. I get two of every relative one from the male side and one from the woman's. Has anyone got any idea how I can rectify this or am I just going to have to live with it.
Many thanks.

I too have this problem also with my Great Great grandfather who married his dead wifes sister.
This cause a similar problem.
The tree becomes very untidy.
Is there a satisfactory way around this??[confused]

Version 3 brought in a method to handle this. Duplicate branches can be suppressed and linking ribbons are used to connect the individuals (or families) that are the source of the duplication.

Many thanks for the info Gerry, I'm using version 2.3 so I'll have to look at getting version 3.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

In 2.3 you can turn off the branch using the circle icons, but you need to do this each time you use the chart.
