Huge source citation list

Post by Adrian » 06 Aug 2006 16:09

Hi - I wonder if anyone can help.  I have been entering my sources & linking each piece of info to different fields on different individual records but when I print a Family Group Sheet this results in a long list of sources - many of them repeated several times but with the different footnote ref nos.  Is there a way of only having the source listed once first followed by a list of footnote numbers?

Many thanks

Have you checked the source output options for the report, in the options for the report?

Hi Jane

Thanks for your speedy response! Yes, I have checked the options but can see no way of changing the way the list looks.  I have loaded 9 sources into a 'test' gedcom and inserted links to the 23 individuals but this results in a 4 page list of 108 items at the end of the report.  Any further suggestions would be much appreciated.

Do you have the Report > Options > Sources tab 'Combine Identical Citations for Same Source' ticked?

Hi Nick

I don't see that option anywhere! I'm using version 2.1.8 - could this be why?  Or am I just being daft [oops]

It may be that this feature was added later but even if not you should definitely upgrade to version 2.3.5 because it is free and can be downloaded from this site http://www.fhug.org.uk/cgi-bin/index.cg ... rades&id=1 I can also recommend upgrading to the latest version (3) even though this does cost money (see http://www.family-historian.co.uk)
