Updated date and time - a buglet?
Hi gang,
Importing a GEDCOM file, it correctly lists the updated date for each record but the time is fixed at 00:00
Is this a buglet?
TIA
Phil.

Is this on a merge, or on opening a file? Does the original file have times in it?

Hi Jane,
On opening an existing file and *yes* the file does have times in it. I would not dream of reporting this if the times were zero in the GEDCOM file!

Can you paste a little bit of the original gedcom here please.
When you save the file after import does the time convert to 00:00 or is the data lost completely?

Ah, I opened up the individual record in FH and I see the last changed time is 'starburst'
So, does FH expect the time to be at level 3 and have three fields I wonder?
Best regards
Phil.

What program is the data coming from it is a problem in that programs export.
To fix it prior to opening the file in FH, you need to replace
2 TIME
With
3 TIME
The format of the change statement shows the time should be a sub off the Date line therefore the number on the front should be incremented.

Hi Jane,
Thank you for that. The program is the British Peditree, the Windows version of Pedigree. I will let Murray Kennedy, its author, know!
Then, a standard Find and Replace within Wordpad on that line to change 2 to 3 should be a doddle! There only being one group of TIME within the text file.
I even went to the GEDCOM 5.5 Standard and it confirms what you said! NOt that I did not trust you!
Thanks and best wishes
Phil.
