Haven't spotted a post on this yet, apologies if I've missed it.
I have no duplicate records, but in the Diagram Wizard I have two parent entries duplicated at the two of that part of the tree. Presumably this is to improve the display and clarity since their childrens spouses inter-married.
Trouble is that these parents have ten children, so I have twenty duplicates plus their dependants and spouses too.
I have double checked the records and confirmed that there is only one record for each. I want to remove the double entries from the display tree. I may be new but these are not the outlines of spouses by the way.
Any guidance/support to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. I'm proposing to show my tree at my upcoming wedding and it needs to be somewhat shorter than 6.8 metres long!!
Thanks in anticipation

That is how FH does things at the moment. Where you have shared ancestors they get duplicated on trees. The current recommendation is to turn off one of the (unwanted) branches and add a text box to explain. However, we are promided that version 3 (due soon, I hope) will handle this much better.

Gerry,
Thanks a mill for your swift response.
I've tried absolutely everything to eliminate this, believing that it must be my 'finger trouble' or ignorance. Wish I'd have posted earlier and risked looking stupid ... before I'd torn my hair out!
As you say, roll on (out!) the upgrade, along with, hopefully an 'everyone' option, and a way to annotate the display tree to show where I have birth/marriage docs.
Thanks again.

As Gerry says there are improvements expected to diagrams in V3.
You can show sources on your diagrams now just add them to the text scheme.
In V3 flags will allow you to show flags as graphics which should be really neat.

Jane,
Thanks.
I've tried other program but frankly, nothing else comes close.
I'm looking forward to V3, but am conscious that I need to work smarter and master more of the tools, menus and capabilities. The program could give MS Office a run for its money in terms of complexity! Are there training courses available?

The best training course I know of is the user manual. It is laid out well as a tutorial and the chapters can be taken individually. It is the only online tutorial I have ever completed on any software; it covers things in enough detail so you understand without boring you to death.
