I'm new to the user group, so if I'm asking this question in the wrong place, please forgive me. I've only just bought FH, as an upgrade to an old version of Family Tree Maker. I chose FH for two main reasons - the Try-before-you-buy option and the thriving user group.
Anyway, to get to my question. Suppose I have an ancestor John Loadakids, who had, say, 10 children Albert, Barbara, Charles .... Julia. Albert has a few kids, and so do the others, and they have kids and so on. Three generations down, we might have, in John's descendents tree, Aaron at the far left hand side and his Newly-Found-On-Genes-Reunited second cousin Zoe at the far right hand side. What I would like to be able to do is produce a diagram to show how they're related, from Aaron up to John and down to Zoe, but without having all of Barbara's, Charles's, Delia's, etc., descendents cluttering up the picture in between. Is it possible to do this in FH? I've used the following query - 'Add if Ancestor of Aaron plus Add if Ancestor of Zoe, plus Exclude Unless Descendant of John' to give me a list of the people I want, but how can I get FH to draw a descendants diagram based on this list?
Grateful thanks for any advice.
Mike.

Obviously you can turn off any branches you don't want to see as well. Just click on the little circle icon.
You can highlight the links using the Diagram/Mark/Mark using Query Tool

Leaving People off a Diagram
Hi Jane. Thanks for your prompt response. Since I posted my original question I've discovered that this topic is already in the Wish List under 'Ability to turn off individuals/Wifes/siblings from diagrams'. That's exactly what I want to be able to do. I guess if it's in the wish list it'll come eventually.
I've managed to get more or less what I want by creating a copy of the tree and then using the Split Tree Helper with the Delete Records NOT Found by Query option. [smile]

Wow! I've just read the blurb about the forthcoming Version 3, and item 8.3 seems to do just what I've been asking for - it allows you to hide any box or tree branch. I'm looking forward to release date.
