I tried creating a custom report which is intended to list everyone related to a particular person, showing place of burial and death.
I tried putting filters on the burial and death date columns to exclude anyone without any death/burial info.
As I want people who have either death or burial (or both) recorded, the user manual says to use the 'Add if' function, as this equates to an OR Boolean expression.
On the options, you can select 'Is Null'.
However, what I really need is
Add if 'Is Not Null'
I tried using 'exclude if' 'is Null' but this did not work when the filters were applied to both burial and death, as I think the data is excluded from the 1st filter and the other records not passed through to the 2nd.
I think a 'Is not Null' option needs adding to the list of options, unless anyone can think of a better wasy of doing it.
In my query, I had listed the person, married surname, age of death, date/place of burial and death.
many thanks,
Jeremy

Jeremy,
I think you could use ADD IF 'contains text' for your filter. In other words 'contains text' is the opposite of 'is null'.
