Jane,

The new forums look really good. I did notice a couple of things.

My time zone from the old forum software didn't get carried over to the new software.

Images in old messages are not displaying. Is that something that is going to be corrected?

Can you post a link to an example message where they are not showing and I will check it out.

Some posts are showing and I think it's to do with forum permissions, I had to write scripts to move everything myself so it might take a few days to get all the gremins out.

Hello Jane
Confirming safe arrival. Thanks, it looks good and must have taken a lot of effort, but Is it my eyesight or my venerable LCD screen? - that tiny pale gold font on white bg is a touch hard to see.
I look forward to exploring the new site, however.

Hi Jane,

Likewise, I'm seeing odd artifacts with the gold font, even though my LCD screen is not venerable. I do suffer from astigmatism, but the new glasses fix that. However, astigmatic is what the gold font looks a bit like - some verticals are out of focus when the bold, gold text is used.
It looks to be a browser based problem, I use Seamonkey (version 2.20), based on the Mozilla code as per Firefox.
The same effect does not appear in Internet Explorer 8, or Safari.

Please see attached screenshot.

I'm glad to see that the transfer seems to have gone well, not an easy task in my experience. :D

Kind regards

Doug

It looks like sea monkey is struggling with the google font, is that an old browser I must admit it's not one I have ever used. I use chrome mostly these days

Hi Jane,

Not being technical I can only speculate on the time and effort involved in the new format - I'm sure it's more than substantial.

My age will likely be showing if I say I find the new format a bit overwhelming and a bit too bright. I'm sure with some use it will become easier to navigate.

But bottom line - WE DO SO APPRECIATE YOUR WORK HERE! Congratulations!

Hi Bill,
Yes those images are now working OK for me, but definitely weren't earlier today.
(Maybe Jane has already waved her magic wand at them!)
The link you gave is not working for me either, though.

Hi Lorna,

Yes... I also assumed that Jane had fixed it already. She has been very busy with all the changes to the FHUG site. As we have come to expect, everything has gone very smoothly. Thanks Jane!

I did wave my wand, but I have to fix them one at time at the moment.

Just testing you can upload FH attachments.

Hi Jane

Just to let you know that I eventually managed to login after several attempts and receiving messages about not being able to change your password here & also too many login attempts!! But got there in the end!! And just in case you receive any "send me a new password" requests I don't need new one. I have just managed to change the one you sent to one I can now easily remember

Regards

Sylvia
