Just recently I started having display problems in the knowledge base. Particularly on the downloads and plugins pages. All of the page does not display. Here is an example of the download page:
Here is an example of the plugins page:
The portion of the page that doesn't display is different every time I reload the page. It isn't consistent. The problem only occurs in Chrome, not in IE 9 or Firefox.

If you refresh the web page does the problem correct itself?
If so, then it is perhaps caused by the page being edited at the same time.
As you may have noticed there is a lot of activity at present, moving sections from the old FHUG Home pages to the Knowledge Base Wiki.
So there may be more chance of such interactions than previously.

Mike,
No... refreshing the page doesn't help. A different portion of the page isn't displayed when I do that. Simultaneous use in IE and Firefox doesn't have the problem.

I tried it again just now and have the same type of problem. This time just the beginning of some of the words didn't display.

I have seen this sometimes, when using Chrome, but not with Firefox or IE and it seems to be some sort of rendering error, but I think it's a browser/site issue, as I don't see it in all of them.

Jane,
I never had this problem in the knowledge base before. I first noticed it a week ago or so. I do not have any problems on any other sites including other wiki sites.

I see the same problem in Chrome however.......if I zoom out to 90% it then looks ok, and if I zoom back to 100% it then looks as it should. Zooming out and in seems to clear it.
And like Bill, I never had this problem before with Chrome.

I'll have to try a different theme, but that means I need to redo all the custom stuff for the Plugin help pages.
I'll try and look at it once I have finished writing all the porting software to move to the new forums.
Just to add it's been doing it for weeks. It's just more noticeable now the server is quicker.

Just to add since my Chrome updated to Version 29.0.1547.57
I have not been able to see the problem. Could you all check to see if the problem persists and what version of Chrome you are using.

Jane,
I was on version 28.0.1500.95. I just upgraded to version 29.0.1547.57 and I am not seeing the problem now either. Weird that the problem seemed to manifest itself only in the knowledge base.

Gerry, what version of
Safari are you running, and on what
Operating System.
From a Google search it seems that the last Windows supported Safari was
Safari 5.1.7 for Windows May 9, 2012.
There appear to be quite a number of reported issues with this version.
The current
Safari 6.0 only appears to be supported on
Apple platforms.

I have version 6.0.5 on my iMac with Mountain Lion OS 10.8.

I think many of the browsers are built on shared code, so it's possible the next update to Safari will fix it, if not I'll look at adding a selectable theme as a short term fix.

My Chrome has now also updated to 29.0.1547.57 and the problem seems to have gone away.
