For a horrible moment I thought I had lost the links to Census images linked to a number of people in my tree. I now realise that the ones that show below the property box are those entered before I used Ancestral Sources. Is it posssible to show all multimedia for one person together without having to select a fact, eg census, and then clicking on Multimedia associated with that fact?

If you select a person the click on the media icon on the toolbar (Not the one in the property box), there are two options
View All Media
View media for selected person

But this only shows media directly linked to the individual not images linked via Sources.johnmorrisoniom said:

As Gerry says you can't directly view all media linked to sources which are linked to a person.
I suspect though with V5 you could do a script to produce a list of all the related media, fairly easily.

If you use a report such as 'Individual Summary Report' you can see the individual, their facts and the sources and the images linked to them.

If you really want to see all the media on the Property Box Multimedia tab, then link each image directly to the Individual Record.
It can still remain linked to the Source Record as well.
However, with a several Census Events, plus Birth, Baptism, Marriage, Death, Probate, etc, etc - it could become a large number.

As I have nearly 3000 media - linked mostly through sources and only a few direct to individuals - it does not seem to be a practical proposition to retrospectively link all these to directly to individuals. It would also seem to be an unnecessary complication for media to be linked twice to the same person by two different routes. And if an image is linked twice might it also mean that the same image is shown twice in reports, such as the Individual Summary Report mentioned by Nick?
If, as Jane suggest, V5 has an easy solution by means of a Script then that seems a neater way of proceeding.

I consider an image linked directly to an individual to imply it is a picture of the individual, rather than some document related to them and agree with Gerry.

Thanks to all who took the trouble to reply. It obviously is not as straightforward as I had hoped. The Individual Summary Report shows all the images but is rather lengthy and appears to add images linked to other people who are in turn related to the subject eg my pictures appear in the report for my father.
I guess I'm going to have to wait for V5 and then learn about scripts. Mike's suggestion could work for me as there aren't that many images at this stage.
The use of the toolbar Media icon definitely does not show all my images but again perhaps that as a result of where and how I have saved them so far.
Perhaps this is a Wish List item for V6!!!!??? I can't be the only one who, to put it simply, would like to see all Census and Certs whilst viewing the Focus and Property boxes for an individual.
Anyway, thanks for alll your suggestions

I hadn't used this report before but now see that for me it is invaluable. I have been using it to work thro' a number of members of my tree and have discovered that images are missing where I thought I had added them via AS and can see that I obviously had not hit the SAVE button when using them as a data input aid.Nick Walker said:

It does as you said it would Nick and until the day a version of FH comes along with the capacity to show all images against the PropertyBox it's the report I can see myself using extensively.

If you look at the Tools->Options in Ancestral Sources, all source types (census, baptism and marriage) have options to warn if you are saving without linking an image. So unless you ignore the warnings it shouldn't be possible to forget to link an image.Dagwood said:
