It would be useful to be able to edit the drop-down list under 'Marriage Status'. For example, just because a marriage record cannot be found doesn't mean it didn't take place so it would be useful to be able to select 'Marriage record not found' (and etc.)

IMHO you are confusing two different things. The marriage is one thing, and the record of the marriage is something else. Finding the record of the marriage and acquiring a copy for one's files are two other things as well.
The items in the drop-down box -- [married]/separated/divorced, never married, unmarried couple are all facts about the couple. Whether you have found the marriage record or not is a fact about you, not them. [wink]
I can see the value of having 'unknown' for the cases where you have reason to believe a couple is no longer married, but have no precise knowledge of their status. Either you don't know the status, in which case you can use 'unknown', or you do know, in which case one of the other choices applies.
If you have reason to believe that the couple was married, but you have not found the evidence yet, why not simply list the couple as 'married' -- for FH, leave the setting on the default -- and then:
1) attach a local note to the event which says 'marriage record not found' and/or
2) add the couple to a Named List 'Marriage Records Not Found'
This will allow you to keep track of which records have not been found.

I've got quite a lot of couples where anecdotally they are married but either the proof is still to find /or/ the evidence suggests differently - same with people anecdotally divorced.
So the idea of being able to categorise these people slightly differently is, to me, quite appealing.
I know you could do it by attaching a reliability assessment to the source - but would it be even better if you had a reliability assessment attached to the fact.
...just a thought

The problem with having the reliability assessment attached to a source is that not all facts in a single source have the same level of reliability.
I would also like to be able to assign reliability assessments to individual facts.

Equally, the fact often has a variety of sources, often conflicting, with different levels of reliability. The reliability attaches to the citation, so is related to the individual fact and the source, not just the source.
