I would like to see an app for iPad/iPhone/Android which would allow information be captured in the field and synced with FH - perhaps via Dropbox, SkyDrive or Amazon Cloud. The fields to be captured could be exported in a list from FH to Dropbox. It makes sense for this to be a GEDCOM file. The mobile app would read this file as a config file and present the fields for the relevant Person Record to be edited. In the case of a new person, the app would present a 'New Person' form to be populated. The resulting updated file on Dropbox would then be imported into FH.

Hi Nick,
That sounds like an existing item on the wish list:

Also have a look in the knowledge base where others have suggested other apps.

An alternative approach may be to use PC Remote Control.
As long as your iPad/Android tablet (or any other remote device) has a G4/G3/WiFi Internet connection, then it can control your PC and run FH remotely.
A requirement is that you must leave your PC switched on, with the PC Remote Control software running, before you leave home (or have someone at home to switch it on).
Also the PC must NOT revert to a standby mode or idle state after a period of inactivity.
See PC Control Panel > Power Options > Put the computer to sleep = Never.
Note that media file transfers may be slow or expensive, and best left until you get home.
Another method is to use a public PC (perhaps in a library or register office) to remote control your home PC.
Some of the utilities do NOT need to be installed, but can be run in an ordinary restricted user account using portable software on a pen drive.

Thanks for that. I use TeamViewer quite a lot. Mainly to help others with PC problems. I never thought to use it for FH remotely. I'll give it a go.
