Soldiers in Boer War

Post by davidm_uk » 12 Apr 2010 10:04

Having spent ages not finding my grandfather in the 1901 census, though I have him in both the 1891 and 1911 census', I came across some entries in various Boer War records that might be him, but without enough detail to confirm it:

Private 24732 Albert Hare
43 Company (Suffolk) 12 Battalion Imperial Yeomanry
Remarks: QSA Clasps: CC,OFS,T,SA01,SA02
References: WO128

Can anyone suggest where I might look to get additional information, eg full name (his middle name was Charles), age, dob (I have his birth cert), where from, next of kin etc, that might confirm or otherwise if this is the right person.

Thanks, David.
