I am using Foto Tagger to identify who's who in various photos.
When I put the photos onto Family Historian there is no sign of the Foto Tags.
Is this programme not compatible with Family Historian?

Sorry never heard of the program. I took a quick look at the site and it looks like a new proprietary tagging system.
FH won't be able to read those tags and I suspect other programs will not be able to either.
