Re: Back up files

In the Rosser 100422.fh_data folder there should only be sub-folders and the Rosser 100422.ged Gedcom file.
All other files can be deleted, including:
Rosser 300316.ged Gedcom file
Rosser 030714old.zip Compressed (zipped) file
Rosser 030714old.ged Gedcom file
debug.log Text Document
~fh86DD.tmp TMP File and all other similar TMP Files

All but one of the folders are not very large so can be ignored.
It is the Media sub-folder that is 18.9 GB and so contributes to most of the 12 million MB backup.
That folder stores all the Media files linked to FH Project Media records.

Should all the files in that Media folder be linked to the FH Project?
If so then we can check that in FH. So if you answer 'yes' to that question I'll explain how to check.

Deleted the folders/files you suggested Mike. So how to check the Media file?

In FH use the Tools > External File Links... and tick Show Broken Links Only.
If you have a lot of broken links then they need fixing before moving on.

If there are no broken links move on to this second step.
In FH run the Check for Unlinked Media plugin from the Plugin Store.

Initially just choose to List Unlinked Media and tell me how big the list is

If you have no broken links reported in Tools > External File Links... then those unlinked Media are presumably redundant files.

If you are happy you have a Full Project Backup and happy that those unlinked Media files are redundant then run the plugin again and choose Delete Unlinked Media to permanently delete them all.

Does that significantly reduce the size of the Full Project Backup?

It might be worth checking the FH Records Window on the Media tab for unused records.

Click on the Links column header and scroll to the very bottom. Are there any with Links = 0 ?
Those Media records are not used anywhere so can be deleted.

That will release so more Unlinked Media Files that can be deleted.
