Pathname issue with accents (Win11 VM)?

Post by strathglass »

So I am trying the program on an Apple silicon mac running Windows 11 Pro in a VM (using VMWare Fusion 13.5 free version).

The one media issue I noticed is that some media links are broken but everything looks OK.
It seems the issue is any media path where the folder name has accents causes all contained files to show as having broken links.

The media in these folders on my regular Windows 10 PC (with exact same path names) are all fine (no broken lengths).

Any idea what the issue could be / how to fix the issue?

Here is one example of a problem folder (note in this case the one accented letter in the terminal folder name; that is the folder that contains the actual images showing as having broken links):

The accented letter é can be represented in both UTF-8 and ANSI/Code Page 1252.

Try to fix the broken link via the Media record or Media Window and browse to the desired folder & media file.
If that works then one machine is using one representation and the other is using the other.
