Generic: This is the column type to use for columns that don't match any of the other column types. Using the Local Note option it is possible to specify where this column will be recorded. Most generic columns are not set to record anywhere unless the user chooses the Auto Source option on the main screen to create a transcript of the census in the source text.

What "main screen" is being reference in the Knowledge Base article for AS Census Template Editor? I cannot locate the Auto Source option.

It is talking about the AS Census entry main screen where you enter the grid of people, not the Census Template Editor.
The Text: box at the bottom has the Auto source text option.
