This is probably a question of Mike Tate:
I would like to search for, and receive a listing of various TAG(s) that have no PLAC associated. with the fact or event or whatever....
for instance, as I furiously copy and distribute CENS records to families, I might forget to fill in the PLAC record.
RESI is often the same case, off the top of my head.
BIRT and DEAT less so, but it happens, Well, you get the idea...
Being on 6.7.2 and not sure if the DEAT glitch is fixed, I am unsure if I could use search and replace plugin;
if CENS exists and PLAC == '' then PLAC == '' to get the listing...
GEDCOM changes make me hinkey and I want to insure I am correct in the statements and results the first time. (Even if I backup prior, it would still distress me to botch it.
or if there is something else?
I have been heads down in "Norway" for a few weeks, and I am burnt toast, I hope what I am asking makes sense.

Re: Search for :TAG: with no PLAC
I am fairly certain that this can be achieved with a fact query with a row filter to exclude unless fact place is Null.
I haven't git FH available at the moment to give you the exact settings.

Yes, to find facts without a Place field use a Fact Query and set the Rows filter to Exclude unless %FACT.PLAC% is null
That will list many facts so you may wish to add preceding filters such as Add if =FactLabel(%FACT%) matches Census
That will work for any fact (event or attribute) but not whatever..., i.e. not Place fields in Repository records, etc.
You cannot use the 'Search and Replace' plugin to find missing fields.
What is "the DEAT glitch"?

Re: Search for :TAG: with no PLAC
Ron, that is not a DEATH glitch because aspects of it apply to all facts and elsewhere.
In the context of the search you are requesting here, it has no impact whatsoever.
You are looking for Place fields that have never been entered and were omitted by mistake.
So the PLAC tag will never exist and thus is always null.
The glitch you are referring to involves deleting a Place, Date, or other field value but leaving the PLAC, DATE, or other TAG behind with no value until FH is closed and reopened whereupon the empty field tag is removed.

Re: Search for :TAG: with no PLAC
in context, I was thinking about the if not plac then plac = '' in your find and replace to get a listing, thereby creating many glitches. I was too brain dead to think of a query. Having a day off now has helped relax the little grey cells sommat.
