Peter, since you have upgraded to FH V7, please update your profile shown to the right of your posting that still says V6.2.
Click your username, navigate to Edit Profile, set Family Historian to V7, and then scroll down to SUBMIT.
Instead of selecting just the Root Individual, either select both Spouses or select their Family record as explained in the FHUG Knowledge Base advice View Both Spouses’ Ancestors in Diagrams.

Re: Parents of Root's wife not showing in diagram [V.7]
Although we seem to have solved the problem with root and root's wife parent family not being shown - I now have a situation where with several couples only one half of the couple is showing in the diagram. How can I make everyone I have got in my database appear in the chart/diagram?
BTW, I have only come across this since upgrading to V.7; I ahve never had this problem with any of my 80+ family trees in any previous version.
Look forward to your help.

I guess you are talking about Charts > All Relatives... diagrams.
(It helps us if you can be more specific about what options you are using.)
Fundamentally, those diagrams have not significantly changed in FH V7.
So the fact you've only just spotted missing branches is purely a coincidence.
In All Relatives diagrams the ancestors of spouses of direct relatives have never been included.
So for example, if your grandfather married twice then your grandmother's ancestors are included but the other wife's ancestors are not included, because they are not direct relatives.
Use Charts > All Relatives + Indirect Relatives Diagram... to include such indirect relatives who are all in the same Pool.
However, the diagram can get somewhat complicated because it tries to avoid crossing lines.
Use Charts > Everyone Diagram... to include absolutely everyone in your Project, including completely unrelated sub-trees.

Hello
Still having Diagram problems :
Having got all relatives to show in the diagram, I then edited the text scheme 'Birth, Baptism, Marriage, Death, Burial + Notes' that I am using by adding 'Relationship to Chart Root'. It shows as added in the right hand Edit Text Scheme Box – but doesn't appear in the Diagram itself.
Please help

Rather than using Edit Text Scheme... I recommend you first use Clone... so that the standard Text Scheme is kept with its installation settings.
After editing the Text Scheme, make sure it is selected in the Text tab when you click OK.
Have you checked all the boxes in the Diagram, especially those near the Chart Root, as some more distant relatives may have no identifiable relationship with the Chart Root person?
