I am new to this geneology work and have to say I am enjoying myself immensely finding long departed relatives but I have come up against an unexpected issue.

I have been married twice, the first time ended in divorce 40years ago but we did have a son now an adult of course with his own children. I have long since remarried with further children also now adults with children but the problem is that as both of my wives are listed because of the children the first wife is always shown as my default wife as I am the root of the tree. The second wife is NOT amused. I have tried to explain to her that it is date based and wife 1 precedes her due to dates. Is there anyway I can turn this around to show she is the default wife or am I just going to have to suffer the fires of eternal damnation for ever

If you look at the property window for yourself, you will see (in your case) two tabs for your spouses, these are normally arranged in order of entry, which in your case is not what you want.

BUT, to the right of the tabs, there are two curly up/down arrows, which can be used to alter the order of your spouses.
Arrange your wives in the order you want using these arrows

Mike is absolutely correct, but just be aware that FH has automatic sorting features that may reverse your change by using the Marriage Dates.

Thank you for your help, that worked and so far FH has not changed it back, the fires of eternal damnation are still glowing but as they say I am always in the mire it is just the depth that varies...

Just to put your mind at rest. FH will not ‘automatically’ sort your data, unless you ask it to
