Hi - As a new user of FH7, I want to establish the optimim strategy for handling new and existing trees, which I have.
Is it better to combine my several trees into a single larger tree and use FH's facilities to view and print sub sections of the tree as required in future, or to maintain existing trees (all of which have common members)?
Also, can I add an existing tree in GEDCOM format to my main tree in FH7?
Sorry for basic questions, but I'm only getting into the FH world!

Welcome to the FHUG.

The general advice we give is to combine all your data into one FH Project.
See the FHUG Knowledge Base advice One Project or Many.
The Project may hold one large tree of relatives or it can also hold several independent trees.
That advice is particularly relevant if, as you say, you have common members in the currently separate trees.
It is much easier to manage those common members in one Project and it is easy to produce subtrees from FH when needed.

Yes, you can import GEDCOM files from any other product and after a clean-up process, they can be merged into your main Project.

See the FHUG Knowledge Base advice Importing to Family Historian that has both general advice and specific advice for some products. Which products are you importing from?

See the FHUG Knowledge Base advice Merge/Compare File which advises you to create a temporary Project using the Importing to Family Historian advice and then Merge it into your main Project.

There is no specific advice in Importing to Family Historian for importing from FindMyPast but much of the general advice applies.

FindMyPast does not export media image files with its GEDCOM, so you will have to handle all those by hand one at a time.
