Help wanted for the Wish List

Post by ColeValleyGirl » 13 Dec 2022 13:18

Mike T, Jane and I are the only people who can move items from the New Wish List Request forum to the actual Wish List, and a backlog has built up because there are only so many hours in the day... The oldest item dates back 4 years!

Actually creating the entry on the Wish List isn't what takes the time; it's the steps of:
  • Validating that the requirement isn't already met satisfactorily (including by features in FH introduced after it was raised)
  • Formulating the text of the request (or requests), including
    • reaching a consensus on what is actually wanted
    • specifying the requirement
    • Identifying related items already on the Wish List
It would be really helpful if one or more of you could volunteer to help with a 'Wish List Blitz', working from oldest request to newest, with an aim to formulate the Wish List item contents so it can be added to the Wish List (or discarded if no longer needed, or there is insufficient input to understand the requirement).

Any volunteers?

OK, I have had a quick go at the oldest;
Order facts in diagram by date (16095)

Is that what you had in mind, or have I only given the pot a stir?

I think we might ask those who have opened Wish List Requests to revisit them and
  • either add a note saying the item is no longer required (and why)
  • or, bump them by reviewing and summarising their status (commenting on any posts added as part of this Blitz)
How are the MJH group going to prioritise their review (and closure, leave, transfer to The Wish List) given that this blitz is distorting dates?

That'll be an easy way to determine which ones will fall by the wayside.... I suggest it will need a response to each entry quoting the OP so they (hopefully) get notified and allow a month(?) for responses by the OP or others...

We can see the original date as well as the last updated date, but personally I'll give priority to requests that are (commented as) ready for transferring to the Wish List.
