Create Source Template Definitions - No Download Link

Post by Mardon » 15 Nov 2022 14:56

I'm not seeing a download link on the details page for the "Create Source Template Definitions" plugin. I see download links on other plugin pages that I checked. Can anyone tell me when/if the "Create Source Template Definitions" plugin will be available again?

Perhaps you skipped over that page and went straight to the Help page for more information?

Unusually, that Help page has no link back to the download page.
There should be a Plugin Create Source Template Definitions link between the horizontal bars at the bottom.
I suspect the Author has overlooked adding that link by nominating it as the main help page.

When I go to the "All Plugins List" and click on "Create Source Template Definitions", I get the page shown in the attached image. I've looked for other ways to get to the download link but I keep getting the page shown in the attachment. I can't find a download link. I guess I'm probably doing something stupid but I can't seem to figure out what. Can I get a bit more help? Thx

[Edit] I got it now. I was on the help page as suggested in a reply and there's no download link on that page but I have since found the download. Thanks for the help.

That is the Help page I mentioned and should not be linked to the All Plugins List.
( I suspect it is due to the missing link I mentioned. Hopefully, Mark Draper will see this and fix the Help page. )

Instead of the All Plugins List choose the Plugins for V7 > Standard Plugins and Search for its name.

Sorted - thanks (and in other plugins where it was missing... :)). My Store plugins now all have return links and are listed correctly in the Help catalogue.

Mark, thank you for updating your Help pages, but for me the https://pluginstore.family-historian.co.uk/all-plugins links still open your Help pages (e.g. https://pluginstore.family-historian.co ... efinitions instead of your plugin Download pages (e.g. https://pluginstore.family-historian.co ... efinitions).
The link you have added to the Help page does open the Download page but only after scrolling to the very bottom!
Maybe CP need to update their All Plugin List page. I've tried refreshing my browser and tried different browsers to no avail.

Stranger and stranger :?

I have 6 plugins in the Store. All the links work correctly from the main plugin listings or when searching for the plugin by name, but in the All Plugins list, every one of them opens the help page rather than the main plugin page!

It suggests I'm doing something wrong (or at least unexpected), but I can't find an obviously incorrect setting in the plugin edit pages in the Authors' Area.

I think Jane is the main architect of the Word Press store, so hopefully she or Helen will point me in the right direction...

I suspect you are doing nothing wrong, except that you omitted the 'plugin' link originally.
The All Plugins List is probably built incorrectly in that case and needs rebuilding to fix it.
As you say, Jane/Helen/CP will hopefully know what needs fixing.

Sorted now. I raised a ticket with CP, and between us we worked out that the WordPress plugin that generates the All Plugs List is faulty, and was confused by my original error of omitting the plugin links in the help file.

The only solution was to delete my old help pages and create new versions with correct links from the beginning. Luckily a simple copy-paste, so it only took a few minutes per plugin.

Fixing the WordPress plugin will be referred back to whoever provided the original site for them.
