I have just heard via another forum, that the genealogy champion Guy Etchells has sadly passed away.
Sir, you’ll be sorely missed. RIP

Re: Passing of Guy Etchells
The 1939 and the early release of the 1911 census are (among) his memorials. While the early release of the 1911 is, in a sense, now irrelevant, the 1939 is very much still in play, as the NHS's original comment was that the Register was protected by the Census Act, so couldn't be seen until 2040 (https://www.lostcousins.com/newsletters ... m#Good1939). Guy was one of those who chased after the 1939.
