I have a New York State census for 1915 to input, and I used a copy of the 1910 US census as a starting point to save keystrokes.
As I understand it, State censuses may well differ from State to state, so I would want to identify my new Census Template in some way to identify it as a NY one. I tried entering "1915 NY" as the year, which seems to work perfectly other than not letting me automatically set a date for the census in the template - which is easily worked around.
Has anyone other suggestions as to work round this issue

Re: US State census
When you create the Census Template why not set the Region to 'USA New York' and similarly for all other states.

Re: US State census
Yes I'd recommend using a different region as Mike suggests. That's the reason why I changed the name of the drop-down to Region rather than Country

So obvious once someone suggests it.
