I have been working again with Family Historian and trying to set things up to my preferences, this time the Family Tab available from the records window.
Simple one first, I cannot find a way to bring the selected family into Focus, the Focus icon greys out. In my previous software I could easily navigate from the Couples view to the family in highlight, what am I missing?
One thing I found lacking in my previous software was lack of family display data to help me make informed selections. I have created columns Child 1, 2, 3 etc with the expression %FAM.CHIL[3]>NAME[3]% etc. but only very occasionally is even the second column populated even in cases where the child count is numerous, again what am I missing?
TIA

Re: Family Tab navigation and custom issues
You can't navigate from a couple to the focus window, only from an individual, because the focus window is constructed around an individual (and all their families) not around a single couple.
will give you the third name of the third child.

Thank you, that question really was rather silly of me, should have thought a little first

What I do is to expand the family entry in the records window by clicking on the "+". This reveals the husband's name and the wife's name. Click on one of these and then click on the focus icon which will display them in the focus window.
