Yes, you are correct, it only works if an Individual type of report is chosen as the Primary Page Type at Step 3.

I am developing a feature in the Improve Website or CD DVD HTML plugin to allow a 3 generation family tree diagram to be included at the top of each report, i.e. the parents and children of the couple or person featured in the report.
Each box in the diagram will have a clickable link to that person's associated Family or Individual report.
