Assessment Drop down List
When I imported my ged, it put certain choices in the drop down list. Is it possible to change that list? Thank you.

Re: Assessment Drop down List
Sorry, but I think you are mistaken. The Assess drop-down list options are all predefined, partly by the GEDCOM specification for the Unreliable, Questionable, Secondary Information & Primary Information options, and partly as FH custom additions under <more options...> that are derived from popular genealogy citation strategies. The options cannot be changed.
What made you think they were imported?
How would you want to change them?
If you inspect the Family Historian Sample Project you will find the options are the same.

Re: Assessment Drop down List
I thought they were imported as some of them were multiple words: Direct Primary Original as taken from my RootsMagic file. I guess they were selected as such based on the GED info. What I would like to see is the derivative in the drop-down list as the US Social Security Death Index is a derivative of the actual SS application form. To me, it isn't primary but it also isn't secondary- to my thinking. I think of obituaries as secondary. Thanks as always for knowing the program's ins and outs.

Re: Assessment Drop down List
dfromel is not mistaken. RM has very similar additional options for assessment to FH, and Direct Primary Original is correctly imported from RM (Original Source, Primary Information, and Direct Evidence). Individual values can be changed in FH (under <more options...>), but the set of options is fixed, and cannot be customised.
Incidentally, I think the more complete set of options is best transferred by a direct import, not GEDCOM, which has a habit of messing things up!

Re: Assessment Drop down List
Mark, when I said I thought dfromel was mistaken, I was referring to the claim that the imported GEDCOM "put certain choices in the drop down list".
You confirm that "the set of options is fixed, and cannot be customised." which agrees with my statement.
I agree that a direct RM import is far better than a GEDCOM import.
