Backup and Restore Plugin Error

Post by David Potter » 04 Mar 2022 09:06

@Mike

After successfully running a Restore FH Settings on a new Laptop running Windows 11 Home. I chose to reset the Plug-In Defaults. After which I received this error message which I cannot close?

Any ideas as to what is wrong and how to resolve?

Thank You.

That is explained in the Help & Advice page for the Options tab.
It is a side effect of having Enable Diagnostic Mode ticked, which should never be necessary unless I ask you to.
When Reset Plugin Defaults is used it checks the setup for Crossover/Wine.
It is a diagnostic aid just for me, which usually lists nothing but when FH is updated it often adds new Registry Keys that I need to know about and update in the plugin. FH V7 has been updated rapidly recently and I cannot keep up.
Sorry, but you will have to just keep clicking OK until it stops listing those new Registry Keys.
Then untick Enable Diagnostic Mode and it will never happen again. :D

Thank you Mike, yes clicking repeatedly closes that message window.
I'll untick that particular default setting.

Strange as I have the same settings on my old machine and have never seen that message before. It was only when performing a Restore on a new laptop and copying the same settings over it appeared.

No matter it is solved now.

Thanks for your help.
