Dragging photos to add media no longer works for me
Until recently when I had a new photo for a person in my tree, I would open the media tab for the person and drag the photo into FH. Now I get a round black circle with a diagonal bar across it. I have to use the Add Media button to bring them in. This is a recent change although I can't recall if it happened before or after I upgraded to 7.0.3. Is there a setting I am missing?

Yes, that is a black 'No Entry' sign meaning drop is not allowed until the cursor is somewhere valid.
Can't drag-and-drop media into source record following upgrade to 7.03 reported a similar problem earlier.
The solution was to Close and Restart FH following the installation of an FH update.
The reason is that a program installed using Administrator does not allow Drag & Drop by a non-Administrator account.
Might that explain your scenario?

It worked. Thanks very much. I was pretty sure I had closed and restarted after the new version, but maybe not.

Although I don't use administrator mode on my PC. Maybe FH does.

You would HAVE to use Administrator mode to install FH and you must have an Administrator type of account.
If not, then I strongly advise you to create one!

Re: Dragging photos to add media no longer works for me
I think the layout is confusing. Though I dont have fh open now, over the past week I have been adding images to some sources.
The fh7 screen seems to offer the opportunity to drag and drop.
But I too found it didnt work unless I clicked the plus button to add media, That button offers a further choice of whether to move the selected image file to within the fh folder or just link it. If one could indeed just drag and drop, it would omit that choice. It is the multiplicity of choices that make fh7 such a pain to work with.

Evelyn,
Drag and drop offers the same choice, I'm afraid. It's a choice which is important to many people!
