You could attach it as a media file to your individual record, but FH has no facilities for processing it.

What are you trying to achieve?

Hi
I thought if I could add it to FH, it would add the data that I already have.
My apologies, I am new to this
Many thanks for your help.
Cheers

Don't apologise for asking questions -- that's what these forums are for.

Working with DNA is a complex area and you're better off looking for specialised tools.

I may have got this wrong.
But the expression "Ancestry DNA data" could mean a couple of different things.

Ancestry tested my DNA. The DNA results are sent to people who have been tested who are able to download them in a plain text file which has a reference number and should be copied and kept carefully.
Some other websites such as Gedmatch, invite people to upload the results of DNA tests from other providers such as ancestry. You may want to do this for instance for purposes of participating in a one name study or place study of a particular village.

But another set of ancestry results is the viewable list of ancestry memebers whose DNA results have some kind of match with one's own. This is not raw data. However, as far as I know this list is confidential. Permission has been given by people tested to show their names or pseudonyms to other ancestry members whose DNA matches their own.

You cannot download this list of matches nor import it into fh. One can if one wishes enter the names (or some of the names) into fh by hand. Where there is a clear relationship, I enter the names of matches and the relationship into fh using the system devised by Jane.

Where a name is of interest I have listed them and their place of residence in a Word document but where a network may be linked to my own family, I may add them to my tree, unconnected to my own famiy and with the postfix DNA after the surname or in the source. This is frowned on by experts, but it replicates a system I found handy in the past in other software when studying a common surname in a particular village.

fh version 7 has opportunities for listing research in Notes but for the moment my additional DNA match names are in MS Word.
