Random other people in citations

Post by russellf97 » 23 Dec 2020 11:11

As in the attached screenshots, other people appear randomly in entries originally created in v6, and, so far, I've no idea why. Has this happened to anyone else?

Does that NARRACOTT, ROGER... entry appear in the Text From Source for the specific Citation?

If you change the Show option to Source Record Only or Citation-specific Only does that switch them on and off alternately?

Thanks for your reply: Source Record Only brings up Mary Legg; Citation-specific brings up Roger...

When using a GRO index as a 'lumped' source the details such as Text and Where within Source should always be attached to the individual citations, not to the Source record. At some point in the past, when recording the death of Mary Legg, you must have recorded the Text for her GRO entry as Source record text rather than Citation specific text. Find Mary Legg's record and check the citation for her death. Copy the Text from Source to the Citation specific text for the citation, then delete the Source Record text.
