Adding Icons to charts

Post by rfj1001 » 17 Dec 2020 17:59

I used the previous facility in AS to set the relevant census flag and then added a series of conditions in the Diagram Options/Boxes/Record Flag to display the correct icon.

Now the facility is no longer available in AS, I browsed the AS forum and there was a post mentioning a series of 7 expressions in the Knowledge Base to set the census flags. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it.

Can someone point me to it please or give me a steer on how to do it.

Thanks

there is a section headed 'Worked Examples' on this page: Using Icons

In particular it gives this example for a census:
%INDI.CENS[year=1901]% will match a Census Event with a Date in 1901.

However you may need to refine this further if you have censuses for different countries in the same year.

FYI: I tried searching for that help and found it very difficult to find. It is going to be a popular topic.
Searching with the word icon or words box icons or diagram icons did not get anywhere.
Only a search for diagram box icons listed Using Icons article.

[ EDIT: Just searching for Icons is overwhelmed by Downloads, but by using Advanced and ticking KB Articles brings Using Icons to the top! ]

Yes I couldn't find it either when I looked earlier.

Subsequently, I looked in the KnowledgeBase home page under Diagrams and Charts and chose > All and Using Icons is listed there :D
