Version Control

Post by shoshk » 15 Dec 2020 19:36

Hi,

I just read the KB article "Plugin Structure, Version Control and File Naming Advice." I'm amazed that I never noticed it before. Version Control for plugins. Imagine that!

So, of course, I have downloaded and installed Git for Windows.

Do I understand correctly that I should setup the repository in the FH plugins directory (which lives under 'Program Data')?

Shosh,

It depends where you keep 'work in progress'. I don't have my repository in the FH Plugins directory -- I have a separate directory structure where I do all my work, and only move code for testing into the FH Plugins directory -- seems safer that way.

I agree with you. I am hesitant to put something in the plugins directory other than a plugin.
