* FH V7 - switch from 32-bit to 64-bit?

I've just purchased FH7 Upgrade, and run it in a fit of enthusiasm. But then I realised it had installed as 32-bit in D:\Program Files (x86).

My PC is running W10 64-bit, V 20H2, build: 19042.630, installed on 7/12/2020.

Is there any way to reinstall FH7 as 64-bit instead or am I, as I suspect, stuck with 32-bit unless I reinstall V7 from scratch?

I've not updated Ancestral Sources to V7 yet, but it is installed as 62-bit already.

It is still 32bit for now. I suspect converting it to 64 will be much more that just pressing the switch on the compiler.

Perhaps you did not realise that all recent versions of FH have only ever been 32-bit programs so that they can work on both 32-bit and 64-bit PC.
32-bit programs on a 64-bit PC have very few deficiencies.

AS has always had a 64 bit version, but this is because I use the '.Net framework' which means it literally is just a click of a button to create a 64 bit and 32 bit version. This is not a trivial thing for Calico Pie as FH doesn't use .Net.

Just in case it's of interest the only supported versions of Windows (except for businesses who are paying for Windows 7 extended support) are now Windows 10 and Windows 8 and the stats that I've seen suggest that almost no one (relatively) is running the 32 bit version of those products.

32-bit programs on a 64-bit PC have very few deficiencies

But one that could be very relevant for very large projects and reports is the inability of 32-bit apps to use more than about 3 GB of RAM. A properly designed 64-bit app can make full use of all available memory, meaning things run more quickly and smoothly without having to swap out to disk. But as Mike says, that’s not been an issue for FH so far.
