* A visual marker for a 'provisional' relative

Is there a way of putting a strong visual marker on an individual who has been provisionally added to a family?
Ideally it should show in the Focus Window and be more noticeable than text!

I do this with my brickwalls. I attach a picture of a brickwall via the media tab, and make sure it is moved to the top position, so it is shown by default. When I see the individual in the focus window or in a diagram, the picture is shown. It gives a good visual reminder that the individual is a current brickwall. When I eventually break through the brickwall, I simply detach the media.
I’m sure you could find a suitable imaage to cover your situation, perhaps a large question mark image.

I am surprised that for such a very good and extensive package FH hasn't got something like that built in!

FH is different from most products.
Many products have 'built-in' features that may be handy, but can only be used one way.
FH provides a vast array of tools that can be customised to be used in many ways.
You sometimes have to think laterally to apply them to your needs.

I use the Media tab in this way. I have images for brick walls, dna links, single child families, people with no known offspring, singletons and question marks. I don't have images of many of my ancestors so it provides a useful at a glance state of a family group.

I use images from a website of Victorian images http://www.victorianpicturelibrary.com/ to represent my ancestors' occupations and also for children who died as infants which helps me to remember who's who when they all have the same names.

I like the Brick wall idea. I must add that to my media library

I have now added a 'big' red question mark to my pictures folder and using it as marker for my provisional records, it shows really well. Using your idea Gowermick, I can see all sorts of useful symbols that could be used.

I use the In Progress flag for any person that is not absolutely proven to belong to a tree. The In Progress flag box is customised to show a heavy dotted outline, and the men at work icon clearly indicates work in progress. Use the Has Flag query to create a table of people that are in progress.
