Tools working with places

Post by Johnr65 »

I've noticed that going through the list of places and merging duplicates, etc, that some are shown as 0 so presumably I must have at sometime deleted the person but the place is still there? Is there a way of removing those places?

The only way I found was to merge it with another place, ensuring you make sure the other place is highlighted and becomes the result of the merge!
Sadly you can only do this one at a time, because FH objects if you select more than two places to merge!

a quick and dirty is to sort so you got the zeros together, merge them with each other, leaving one zero place, and then merge it with any other place, selecting the real place you want to keep as the merge into, then they are gone.

Select all the places you want to delete (within the Places Record List) and then add them to a named list with a single click. Right click on the named list and select Delete Listed Records.

If there's only a few places, just Select and Delete them one at a time with the Delete key, but the method above is faster if you have more than a few.
