Using the Named List Pane

Post by Gardengirl » 30 Aug 2020 10:15

I started writing this last night but got in a real muddle trying to replicate the problem so I could describe it in detail. This morning I have been round in a circles again but still haven't worked it out.

In short, when I want to use the Named List Pane, I often get this arrangement on the screen but at other times I don't have the individuals list down the left hand side.

How do I open the Named List without the individuals list showing?

IN short, you can't open the Named List Pane without the Records Window coming along for a ride.

Hovever you can reduce the width of the Records window to zero using the slider between it and the Named Lists Pane.

If you do that, and then use Window > Tile vertically, you can display the Naed List Pane alongside the Focus window ir you want to.

But there have been times when I have just had the Named List on the left and after I right click a name and select Properties I have just those two panes. But I can't work out how to replicate it.

And now I've tried your Tile vertically suggestion, how do I undo that?

Ah, cracked it! Sorry to have wasted your time but I think I have worked it out.

If I start with the Records window, open the named list then right click on an individual then the Records window disappears. I don't like to use the full screen width on my monitor so I have the screen set on reduced size. If I put it up to full with I can see the Individuals list. When I have it reduced it disappears.

Thanks for your help anyway.
